The countdown is on for the next Blog Challenge, and it’s the perfect way to kickstart a blog for your own business. But who else is the Blog Challenge for?
You probably know by now that I think blogging is brilliant. It’s the most cost-effective way to supercharge your SEO, and your credibility with customers old, new and yet-to-come – so if you’ve got your own business website to boost, getting a blog going is definitely for you.
But the Blog Challenge can also be the perfect way to start if you’d like to write blogs for someone else, too.
There are many Virtual Assistants and social media professionals out there, whose clients often ask if they can produce for blog posts for them as part of their outsourcing service. Many decline that part, often because they feel they don’t know enough about it. From the planning to the publishing, it can be mystifying and feel like a minefield – and that’s before you even begin writing, or even think about the Dark Art of SEO.
That’s where my Blog Challenge can help. Even if you’ve never blogged once in your life – for yourself or for someone else – the challenge will take you from 0 to 60 in the space of one intro session and five easy tasks. By the end, you’ll have a blog plan for the next 12 months, and have the confidence to plan, write and publish your first post. It’s all in the intro…
The Intro Masterclass
The Blog Challenge week begins with the online masterclass on the Monday morning.
I’ll explain why blogging is so good for any business, even if you don’t have your own website. I’ll share some of the content planning and writing tricks I use when I’m writing for my clients, so you can apply them to your own blog – or the blog of the business you’re supporting.
We’ll talk about planning your posts, and brand new content ideas that your readers will love.
We’ll cover how a blog can help to reduce the time you spend on business writing, from your newsletters to social media posts, and give your business comms a clear, consistent and professional image.
We’ll sweep away the misty mystery of SEO, and how to make your post’s SEO work its hardest for you once you’ve published.
Finally, you’ll get your first task for the week, to complete that day if you can.
The Tasks
Each morning at 9:30 for the rest of the week, I’ll do a short live video in the group to introduce your daily task. Each one is really simple and can be done in 15 minutes. It’s ideal if you can do them on the day they are set, but it doesn’t matter if you can’t.
Both the intro and the tasks are recorded and emailed out to everyone who’s signed up, so don’t worry if you can’t make it – you’ll still have everything you need.
The Community
A huge part of the Challenge for many of my graduates is the private Facebook group. It’s our base for the Challenge, and it’s perfect for sharing the outcomes of your tasks, and for getting feedback and ideas from others. You can ask me questions in the daily lives, or post them in there at any time for the rest of each day.
Anyone can blog for a business – it’s all in the planning. And at the end of the Blog Challenge, you’ll have that plan for the next 12 months – and a practical set of actions for getting it done and working for you, whether it’s for your business or someone’s else’s.
